Main Street Benches Project
Scope of Project
As a continuation of, and in collaboration with The Main Street Merchants of downtown Palm Springs, the Palm Springs Public Arts Commission is excited to announce the next phase of the “artists painted” downtown bench project.
This phase is for the 25 benches located between Tahquitz and Ramon on South Palm Canyon.
This is an open call for artists who like to be considered for this phase of the project.

The deadline for photoshop proposals is October 31st.

All artists are asked to create an Artist Profile on our Artist Directory.
The project will be supervised by Tysen Knight, who painted the first set of benches, including proper materials, protective coating, and skateboard guards.
Artists Pay
Artist will be compensated $1,000 per bench.
There are 4 benches with arms and backs and 21 benches with seat and sides only.

Airport “Pilot” Bench Project
Call for Artists
Scope of Project
The Palm Springs Public Arts Commission is excited to announce our pilot project for 8 benches located at the main entrance of the Palm Springs International Airport terminal.
We encourage artists to propose a design for a single bench and if inclined, to propose a theme for all 8 benches. The selection committee will be made up of both PS Public Arts Commissioners and Airport Commissioners.
Deadline for photoshop mockups for designs is October 31st.
