Artist Bio

Hiya! my name is Marisol Gomez and I was born and raised throughout the Coachella Valley. Since I was very young I shadowed my mother as a muralist, window painter as well as a face painter. And in all of the 21 years of my life, I have blossomed into the world of public art where I  have now branched off into doing my own arts of all the sorts!
With specialties ranging from body painting to sculpture, I enjoy the ability to expand my pallet and learn new crafts. Some of my most recent art endeavors have  been wire wrapping crystal jewelry for my crystal booth in the Palm Spring Village Fest and fire dancing. Dancing with double staffs came to me naturally a few years ago and I have been in love with it ever since.
I also offer portrait commission services, custom jewelry and event performances. My preferred way of creating is in performance. Creating a piece of art to music is to me the most spontaneously inspiring experience, where I don’t know what i’m creating until I splatter paint on the canvas. It then becomes more Spirit led and a spectacle for the audience. All that being said, I have been raised into the light of public art and have embraced as well as enjoyed every aspect of expression through art.

What kind of public art project do I want to work on?

Since I was very young I shadowed my mother as a muralist and window painter during the holidays. My entire life has been focused on honing my craft and learning how to express my perspective. I have blossomed into the world of public art, painting murals in places such as : the Palm Springs 420 Lounge, La Casuelas, Laser Oasis, American ATV Rentals and am 35 feet into a 100 foot mural project in El Centro. I have also been very involved in many community events in the City of Indio. Examples of which are:  four consecutive years of the Chalk Walk Events, receiving the Spirit Award for my efforts in the last year it was active. My design submission for the beautification of the Miles Avenue Bridge Project was accepted when I was seventeen. Also, I  consistently received first place in the yearly Date Festival throughout most of my life for my drawings. I produce art for the public yearly, particularly for the holidays! My mother and I are well known throughout the Coachella Valley for window painting many different storefronts and businesses with holiday cheer. I also offer commission of portrait services. My preferred way of creating is in performance a piece of art to music is to me the most spontaneously inspiring experience, where I don’t know what i’m creating until I splatter paint on the canvas. It then becomes more Spirit led and a spectacle for the audience.
