Frank Lemus grew up in Coachella California where he participated in The Great Wall of Coachella Mural and Community events in support of empowering the youth. After high school he enlisted in the Army and served in Germany, Afghanistan and Italy as a mechanic he returned to the Coachella Valley in the pursue of his passion for art. Lemus completed his associated degree in studio arts at college of the desert where his work was displayed in student exhibitions like the Annual COD Student Scholarship Exhibition. He also participated in Global Inheritance recycling project in 2017 and 2019 where he painted recycling bins that where displayed at the Coachella Music festival Music and Arts festival then donated to schools to promote recycling. He currently attends California State University Long Beach pursuing a Bachelors degree in studio arts.
What kind of public art project do I want to work on?
I have participated in the 1,000ft chicano history mural in Coachella, CA where I painted a 6ft x 55ft section in 2011. I have painted various objects like recycling bins that were displayed in the 2017, 2019 Coachella Music festival. I have also worked with local community organizations like Raices Cultura and painted a large skull 2016, 2017 that was displayed in various places including in front of the Palms Springs art Museum. In addition I have also participated in live art installation with Cultura’s a local community organization in their yearly Synergy Music and Arts Festival.
