Art Is Here

A celebration of 30 Years of Public Art in Palm Springs

“Art is Here,” This year we celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Public Arts Commission of the city of Palm Springs. Our goal this year is to engage our community in our public art collection, create a dialogue on the importance of public art and to determine a vision for the next 30 years of stewardship for public arts in Palm Springs.

The Palm Springs Public Art Commission has partnered with Palm Springs Art Museum and Scene Creative to bring the community together on Sunday, October 14th in the spirit of celebrating 30 years of public art!
This project is lead by Chairman Tracy Merrigan, Chair of the 30th Celebration of Public Art in Palm Springs.

This event was also in conjunction with “A Felt Eye View” created by Sarah Scheideman, which is an interactive art concept envisioned by Tracy Merrigan. This is a felt map of Palm Springs Public Art. “A Felt Eye View” was on display in the Palm Springs Art Museum’s Education Wing debuting on Thursday, October 11th until Sunday, October 14th (both dates the museum is free).
